Skinnybones
By Barbara Park

Now that you have read Chapters 1-4, Alex has many ways of dealing with the events that happen in his life. Choose one event, like the spilled cat food, commerical contest he is entering, show and tell time, awards for baseball or the bully TJ Stoner, and relate it to an event in your life.

I am so glad to see you started reading the book already, and you are the first to get our summer blog going! It is good to hear you are enjoying this book, and if you finish it early you may want to check out the sequel, Almost Starring Skinnybones. Another good book by Barbara Park is The Kid In the Red Jacket.

Something I can relate to in this book is when I was younger I would feed my dog. When I did this I would pour it in the bowl and one time I got it AlL over the floor. I am having a joy reading this book.

There are times when you can't help but feel sorry for Alex. He seems to have bad luck, but he finds ways to handle it. It is a good summer reading book, with lots of fun humor. I am glad you are enjoying it!

When Alex dumped out the Kitty Fritters looking for a form, It reminded me of when people dump out cereal when trying to find the prize. I'm glad I decided to read the book again, it's a good book with awesome humor!

I am glad you are enjoying it again. There is something to be said about reading a book for the second time...you look and read it a totally different way!

By the way, I use to dump cereal out of the box as a kid, too!

When a alex spills the kitty fritters reminds me of when I spillt a gallan of MILK on myself and the floor! I was supposed to clean it up but it was time to go to school and I had to change. Then SUPER GANDMA walks in and while I was at school she cleened it up.
